In September 2024, storm Boris unleashed catastrophic flooding across Central Europe. In Bratislava region, the Danube river surged past 9 meters, the highest levels seen in over two decades. Entire neighborhoods were submerged. Emergency services worked around the clock.
Ground observations were limited. Optical satellites saw only clouds.
